The Rolex Datejust is the ‘poster boy’ for Rolex. Globally recognised as one of the most popular watches in the world and certainly one of the most versatile. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust, since its release in 1945, has seen a multitude of different case materials from stainless steel to platinum, dial variations of every colour under the sun, set in an array of different styles, bezel variations and repeatedly improved mechanics. Whether you like the model or not, there is no denying that a Rolex Datejust is the definition of a ‘timeless watch’.

This particular reference is a 1601, it has a striking stepped white ‘buckley’ dial with black roman numeral hour markers, lume plots and clear black type. The watch is fitted with black hands, a date window at 3 o’clock and a bezel. The distinctive white gold bezel is mounted on the 36mm stainless-steel oyster case with a screw down Rolex crown and has remained in good condition with general wear but no significant damage. It is paired with a stainless steel folded link USA jubilee bracelet with 555B end links. The bracelet is baring some slack, typical of the USA bands, although in a fair condition. Housed behind the screw down case back is the automatic Rolex cal. 1570 movement which is running well.
